Overview
Ideogram is built specifically for generating images with high-quality, stylistically integrated text. It produces posters, logos, typography-forward designs, and social media graphics where text is part of the visual — not an afterthought.

✅ When to use
- Posters, flyers, and social media graphics that include text
- Logo concepts and brand identity mockups
- Typography-forward designs (quote cards, headlines, signage)
- Event invitations and promotional materials
- Merchandise designs (t-shirts, mugs, prints)
❌ When NOT to use
- Photorealistic portraits or nature scenes — Midjourney is far better
- Artistic illustrations without text — FLUX or Midjourney are more versatile
- When text accuracy is not the priority — DALL-E 3 or Midjourney handle the rest
💡 Personal Tips
Ideogram is the only tool I've found that handles the typographic-plus-visual composition challenge really well. For social media quote cards, it saves hours compared to designing in Canva from scratch. Specify font style ('bold serif', 'hand-lettered', 'sans-serif'), colors, and layout explicitly in your prompt. The free tier of 10 images per day is enough for occasional use. If you make marketing assets regularly, the Basic plan pays for itself in one project.
